When you call the law firm, be prepared to provide you name, your location, and a brief synopsis of your legal issue.  Normally, calls are routed to a receptionist.  If an attorney is available, the receptionist will connect you to an attorney.  If an attorney is not available, you will be directed to leave a message in the attorney voicemail.  Please note that the receptionist is not able to take all calls.  Some calls may go directly to voicemail.  If your call is directed to voicemail, please leave a message. 

You should leave the following information in a voice message: 1) your full name; 2) your location; 3) a phone number to can be reached at; and 4) a 10 - 15 second reason for your call.  You call will be returned only if the law firm can provide a legal service for you.

 

If you are connected to an attorney, you will have the opportunity to discuss your case.  This initial free telephone consultation may be limited to a maximum of five minutes.  If the attorney is able to assist you, the attorney will schedule an follow-up appointment at one of the offices or a telephone appointment at a future date.

Guidelines.  Callers seeking a free initial consultation should note the following guidelines: 1) Consultations are provided for individuals interested in retaining legal services only.  Attorneys will assess the viability of potential cases.  Callers seeking free legal advice will not be assisted.  2)  Attorneys cannot give a full assessment or opinion regarding many cases without additional preparation.  Callers should be willing and prepared to schedule a follow-up appointment where the details of the case can be discussed and assessed in more detail.  3)  Callers should not call seeking a quotation on legal fees.  Legal fees differ depending on the details of individual cases.  Legal fees can be discussed after an initial assessment and follow-up appointment.  4)  Any information provided by an attorney will be general in nature and not be related to your case.  Callers may not rely upon any advice given during a consultation.  5)  The free telephone consultation does not create an attorney-client relationship.  Representation begins only after the an individual has signed a written contract to employ attorney AND paid the required legal fees.

 

Appointments can be scheduled at any of our offices or by telephone.  Appointments are available between the hours of 9:00 am until 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.  Under special circumstances, appointments may be scheduled after normal working hours and on weekends.

During an office or telephone appointment, the attorney will make a more detailed inquiry regarding your case and provide more in depth responses to your questions.  The attorney may do legal research prior to the appointment in order to better assist you.  A consultation fee is necessary to compensate the attorney for this time and effort.  You should be prepared to pay a minimum consultation fee $100 to schedule an appointment with The Chander Law Firm.  Consultation fees may be higher in certain cases including when the attorney is requested to review documentation before the appoinment. 

Consultation fees may be waived for personal referral, professional courtesy, or humanitarian reasons.   Please do not request for a waiver of consultation fees.  Consultations fees may be waived only at the discretion of the attorney. 

No walkup appointments.  An attorney will not meet with you unless you have scheduled an appointment in advance.  There are no walkup appointments.
