Attorney Vishal Chander Speaks for ILW Advanced Family Immigration Series

DALLAS, TEXAS — On October 22, 2009 attorney Vishal Chander of The Chander Law Firm spoke on ILW.com’s Advanced Family Immigration Law Issues series. Mr. Chander spoke in the final series session, “Removing Conditions“. Mr. Chander spoke to a nationwide audience of immigration lawyers and paralegals on advanced issues relating to the removal of conditional resident status. Removal of conditional residence is a requirement for all aliens who receive permanent resident status through marriage to a United States citizen or lawful permanent resident within 24 months of marriage. He addressed issues that may arise during the filing of the I-751 application including late filing of the I-751 and filing the I-751 for children. Mr. Chander discussed the complexities of filing the I-751 application during separation or divorce, including seeking waiver of conditional residence. Mr. Chander also commented on removal of conditional residence in removal proceedings. Mr. Chander stated, “Complex issues can arise during the process of removing conditional resident status.
