Delays in H-1B Premium Processing Receipting

On March 31, 2017, USCIS announced there would be delays in the receipting of H-1B petitions filed under the Premium Processing Program at the Nebraska Service Center. The delays are a result of data entry problems occurring because of increased H-1B petitions received. Receipting of cases is expected to take 10 days. The increase in H-1B petitions at the Nebraska Service Center is a result of the termination of the H-1B Premium Processing Program on April 3, 2017. Petitioners seeking extension of H-1B status rushed to file applications before the end of the Premium Processing Program in order to obtain adjudication of cases within the 15 day period offered under the program. The Premium Processing Program offers expedite processing of certain immigration benefits for an additional processing fee of $1,225.
