The Chander Law Firm Presents “Fixing Family Immigration Problems” to RHCA

During this session, Mr. Chander discussed the process of obtaining lawful permanent residence or the “green card” through family-sponsored immigration preference categories and the potential pitfalls in the process. Mr. Chander placed a special emphasis on immediate relatives of United States citizens like spouses. He discussed potential problems, like overcoming divorce and subsequent marriage issues. Mr. Chander also discussed bars to admissibility and the waivers that were available. Mr. Chander also explained the numerical limitations on immigrant visas and the reasons for the many year backlog. Mr. Chander closed the session with several case studies demonstrating the complexity of family based immigration issues. The event was well attended.
