DALLAS, TEXAS — On May 20, 2010, Vishal Chander, Managing Attorney of The Chander Law Firm, presented a seminar entitled “Immigration Issues When Transitioning Employment” to members of the Multi-ethnic Education and Economic Development Center (MEED Center). During this seminar, Mr. Chander discussed immigration issues affecting employees especially during a difficult economy. Mr. Chander discussed the pitfalls faced by aliens when attempting to transition employment. He discussed issues affecting H-1B, L-1, E-3, and TN employees when attempting to change employers or when laid off. He also discussed employment issues faced when applications for permanent residence are pending. The MEED Center is a non-profit 501 (C) 3 organization established to assist the low-to-moderate income with entrepreneurial support, business development, education, job training, and community events. ###
