Visa Bulletin Predictions from Charlie Oppenheim

On August 12, 2016, the American Immigration Lawyers Association Department of State Liaison Committee spoke with Charles Oppenheim, Chief of the Visa Control and Reporting Division for the U.S. Department of State to obtain his analysis and predictions for visa bulleting trends in the future. Here are some of the most important highlights:

  1. EB-2 Worldwide numbers are expected to become current in the October 2016 visa bulletin.
  2. EB-1 India and China are likely to become current again with the October 2016 visa bulletin.
  3. Mexico and India EB-4 visa numbers are likely to become current in the October 2016 visa bulleting with the issuance of the FY2017 visa numbers.
