DALLAS, TEXAS — On October 0, 2009, attorney Vishal Chander, The Chander Law Firm, presented a “Know Your Rights†seminar to immigration detainees. The Know Your Rights seminar was a volunteer program coordinated by the Texas chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), in cooperation with the Immigration Court and Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE). The goal of the program was to inform individuals held in immigration detention about their rights, including about removal proceedings, the Immigration Court process, and forms of immigration relief. Mr. Chander presented the seminar at the Immigration Court in Dallas, Texas. The seminar was broadcast by video connection to immigration detainees held at Rolling Plains Detention Facility in Haskell, Texas.
